NEET
NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is an entrance exam held by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India for those students who are aiming for medical and dental courses at the graduate and post-graduate levels. It usually includes MBBS and BDS courses provided by private and government colleges in the country. The exam is based on a one-tier system. The NEET-UG 2021 took place on 12th September 2021.
The AIPMT (All India Pre-Medical Test) for medicine has been replaced successfully by NEET Exam. In addition to this, the Supreme Court has finalized that NEET scores would be the only way to gain admissions in colleges running medical courses at the graduate and postgraduate levels across the country. Additionally, NEET now stands as the only medical entrance test in the country to be qualified in order for students to seek admissions to undergraduate medical programmes, even scrapping entrance tests by JIMPER and AIIMS.

Also, acknowledging the decision of reducing NEET syllabus by different Education boards, NTA has decided to provide a choice in Section”B” for each section/subject.
Consequently, the pattern will have two sections. Each of the section/subjects has 2 sections –
-
Section A – 35 Questions
-
Section B – 15 Questions
Out of these 15 questions appearing in section B, candidates can attempt any 10 of these questions. Hence, the total number of questions and usage of time is the same.
-
Each question carries 4 marks
-
Correct answer fetches 4 marks for each question
-
1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer
-
If, after the process of challenging a key, more than one option is found to be correct, then any/all one of the multiple correct options which are marked will be awarded 4 marks
-
No marks are awarded if questions are left unanswered or unattempted
-
In the event, if a question was ignored or dropped, all the candidates shall be awarded 4 marks regardless of the fact that whether the question was attempted or not
